Emergencies can happen when we least expect them, and recent floods and wildfires have been a stark reminder of how quickly life can change. Our thoughts are with the families affected by these disasters, and we want to help ensure that you and your pets stay safe in any emergency situation.
Having a plan in place before disaster strikes can make all the difference. That’s why we’ve put together a checklist to help you assemble a Pet Emergency Kit, a simple but essential step to keeping your furry family members safe during an evacuation.
Stay prepared, stay safe, and make sure your pets are ready too.
Here’s what we recommend to include in your kit:

- One-week supply of food (stored in an airtight container or canned)
- Three-day supply of bottled water
- Bowls, soap, and a manual can opener (if needed)
Medications
- Two-week supply of medications
- For diabetic pets: Insulin administration syringes, and glucometer.
Important Documents
- Microchip and license information
- Vaccination records
- Emergency contact list (including your veterinarian)
