Our team seeks an energetic and motivated full-time associate veterinarian for our busy downtown DC practice. You would join a group of five full-time veterinarians with varying years of experience (7-25+ years). Our doctors and support staff create a fun working environment fostered through respect, care, and collaboration.
Our veterinarians see appointments and urgent care cases and perform surgeries and dental prophylaxes. We are a paperless clinic using Cornerstone as our practice management software. We provide our veterinarians with the latest technology, including a full-service in-house laboratory, digital radiographs (dental and standard), ultrasound, and laser therapy.
We employ a support staff of 25+ experienced technicians, assistants, and Client Service Representatives, with several possessing ten+ years of experience. Their knowledge and skills make it easier for our doctors to focus on medicine and give our clients the time and attention they need.
Our clinic is located in the upscale Dupont Circle neighborhood. We serve eclectic, professional clientele who are easy to work with and want to provide exceptional wellness and preventative and medical care for their pets. Companion animals only—no exotics.

You would join a team of 25+ staff members, several of whom have been with our company for over ten years. We use Cornerstone as our practice management software and the latest Idexx in-house analyzers, digital X-rays, ultrasound, and laser.
Besides focusing on top-quality medicine and customer service, our management team focuses on the health and wellness of our staff. Job Description (not all skills are required)
General Skills – Blood Draws, Catheter Placement, Intubation, Cystocentesis, Anesthesia Monitoring, Taking/Developing X-rays, Administering Medications – PO, IM, Sub-Q, IV, Converting injectable medications from milligrams to milliliters, Knowledge of medication classifications, Blood Glucose, Blood pressure, TPR, Knowledge of RX diets, knowledge of heartworm and flea/tick prevention
Dental – Set up dental X-ray software, drill, anesthesia machine, and Shoot Dental X-rays. Inject nerve blocks (Not required), Dental Cleaning (Scaling and Polishing), Suture surgical extraction sites (Not required)
Surgery – Set up a surgical suite for various procedures, Prepare patients for surgical procedures, Monitor Anesthesia
Lab work – Perform CBC/Chemistry, Differentials, Urinalysis, Fecal Flotation, Ear Cytology, Skin Scrapes, PCV /Total Solids, Knowledge of normal ranges, Outside Lab forms – know how to fill out forms and send samples
Non-medical – Supervising Assistants, Client Communication (on the phone and in person), basic computer knowledge

Our five-doctor small animal clinic always seeks veterinary assistants who can make clients and pets feel right at home! You would join a team of 25+ full and part-time employees with an average employment length of over four years. Several employees have been with our company for over ten years.
Our technical staff, receptionists, and veterinarians work closely with one another and enjoy a fun, respectful working environment where every voice is valued. All of our employees are integral to the growth and success of our business. We are looking for candidates who are creative, independent, big-picture thinkers.
The person in this position will assist doctors and technicians during exams, sedation procedures, and surgeries. Knowledge of restraint (exams, radiographs, blood draws, nail trims, ear cleanings) and the ability to take a temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate and administer oral medications (tablets/capsules and liquid) are required.
Other responsibilities include walking in-hospital patients, checking patients for exams, boarding or in-hospital procedures, general cleaning, stocking, and laundry.
Our assistants can further their knowledge and skills through monthly in-house and annual in-person continuing educational opportunities. Once experienced, the assistant may monitor patients under anesthesia, draw blood, perform technical appointments (nail trim, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, oral Bordetella administration, etc.), fill prescriptions, and perform other tasks. This provides our assistants with a pathway toward promotion to the veterinary technician if that’s your goal. For those looking to apply to veterinary school, this position will give you a glimpse into our veterinarians’ everyday life.
